Today was Meme overload for me. I got three boxes today. I feel a bit overwhelmed. Where do I put everything? I don’t know how the ladies who buy tons of them put everything! I would probably have a panic attack.
So anyway, back to the box. This box did NOT come with an information card, which I find weird because it came with a card of the same type, with information on it. It told you the web address to see the card on memebox.com…I don’t know. Here it is:
Here’s a link! http://us.memebox.com/info-card/memebox-special-81
Here’s the box!
This box came with 6 items and a bonus Mememask(!), and cost $23.99 + $6.99 shipping. I REALLY like this box and look forward to using the products.
Item #1: Lassie’el Night Miracle Sleeping Pack x2 Chosen at random between Egg (moisturizing), Pearl (brightening), Mango (soothing), and Avocado (lifting).
I received this in pearl and mango. I love love love brightening products! I can’t wait to try this bad boy out. I’ve never tried any kind of mask or pack that had mango as its main ingredient. I love the scent of fresh mangoes, so hopefully I will like this pack. Oh, did I mention that the packaging is super stinkin’ adorable? Because it is!
So cute, right? Like the real thing. Hey, Meme, this should have been in a cute box! They’re also very small, half the height of that box. So you take the included spatula, mix it all up and slather it all over you face and then go to bed. Woo.
Item #2: AHC Hologram Active Gen Serum
This thing looks REALLY cool. There’s a hologram of some sort of ingredient in the bottle and its all green and iridescent.
Super cool. This is supposed to firm, brighten, and repair. We shall see. It is a pricey item (memevalue $89!), so hopefully it lives up to that.
Item #3: IASO Intensive Clear Conditioner
This is a SMALL pack of wipes that have salicylic acid in them, as well as some other nice, soothing ingredients. I’m running low on stridex, so I will try these before I open the next box of them. It doesn’t say what percentage of BHA is in them, but it’s probably not as strong as the red box stridex, which is 2%. How this is supposed to be “the next best thing”, I don’t know, but it will get used.
Item #4: Blithe patting water sample pack
I forgot about this item already, and when I looked back at the website, I got super excited again! I hear nothing but good things about this item. I can’t wait to try them out!! I think I am going to go the route of making a mist from one of these packs. These are probably the most exciting thing for me in this whole box.
Item #5: Shara Shara Green Tea Seed Magic Balm
Memebox sent out something from this line in the Petit Treasures box. This is an oily balm meant to moisturize. It is supposed to smell like limes. I find that if I stick my nose up super close, all I can smell is oil. If I pull it away, it smells faintly of lime and salt. It absorbed pretty quickly for an oil based product, so I will use it on rougher areas, like my heels, or my knuckles (I wash my hands A LOT, so my knuckles are super dry in the Winter). I don’t really know what this is doing in this box either, to be honest. Is it because it can be used on anything from face and lips to feet?
Item #6: Dr.MJ Moisture Bounce Collagen Capsule Cream
The packaging for this is pretty classy. I like it a lot. I’ve said previously that I am curating a box for my mom, since I went a bit overboard on boxes in October. This is going to her. I think she’ll like it. It seems light so hopefully it won’t break her out or anything. It’s supposed to hydrate, firm, and rejuvenate, which will be good for her mature skin.
I am pretty excited to try this out. I have never used a hydrogel mask, or a two-piece mask. This is both. I’m hoping it is as intensely hydrating as it claims, because I am gonna need it this Winter, for sure.
That’s the next best thing! I thought there were 2 items which didn’t really fit the box, but I will still use them. I like this box a lot, and think it was definitely worth purchasing. Keep up the quality, Memebox!
I am not even sure how to start this blog. I guess I want to say, that at least when it comes to Memebox, I am generally calm and patient. I see the upside in boxes that are raged about. Today, I received my first Memebundle. I got Petit Treasures and Apple Mojito. These boxes were priced at $19. They were not specified to be a mini box or anything, even though they were below the average $23 box. They were also priced higher than the standard mini box, which comes in at $15. So, being in between these two price points, I didn’t expect 7 or 8 items, like in a standard Memebox. I figured maybe 5 or 6. I did not expect FOUR. Four measly items in this petit treasures box. I opened up my brown Meme box to see the tiniest pink box Meme has. “Well this box DOES have tiny things in it”, I reasoned. I picked it up, and if contents didn’t shift, I would have thought the box was empty. Again, I thought “PETIT treasures.” I opened it up.
“Ok, these are some decent items. There will probably be five items in there, and we’re off to a pretty good start.”
“… … …Uh. What?”
Four items, and the two on the back are BAAADDDD.
So here goes my focus on to the items.
#1 RE:CIPE by Nature Ice cream swing gloss #2 Sweet Fiona Meme price: $5 (I normally don’t do this, but it will come into play further along)
I haven’t used this yet, as I literally got it 20 minutes ago. I have stated in the past that I do not like potted lip stuff. It’s sticky, and greasy and I don’t like my hands feeling either of those things. However, since Memebox curates a least one god damn potted lip item into 90% of the boxes I order, I will use this one because a. it’s adorable, b. it has a key chain, so I can put it on my keys, and c. I don’t have anyone else to give potted lip balms to! As stated, this thing is super cute. It’s shaped like an ice cream cone and is in my favorite color, mint green. The smell is kind of hard to describe, but it seems to be somewhere between lime and mint? THIS is the balm that should have gone into Apple Mojito Memebox!!
#2 Shara Shara Revital Magic cream. Memeprice $16
Memebox puts Shara Shara into every box, so I’m not surprised to see it in here. At least it’s not makeup (which is unfortunately coming along in a bit). I hear decent things about their skincare, so I would like to try this, I think. The tin it comes in is really cute. I like smiling girl/doll things, though. It looks like clay and smells like eucalyptus. The ingredients are free of mineral oil, benzophenone, alcohol, artificial fragrances, triclosan and propylene glycol, so this might be good on sensitive skin. This is the first item I have see with a use by date on the card, which is July 21st. 2015. That is very specific.
#3: ddung Lovely girl mascara. Memeprice: $24.
This is plain ass mascara in a purple lacy printed package. The card says it’s long lasting and lengthening, but seriously, what mascara isn’t? I haven’t had a non-water-proof mascara smudge or flake off in YEARS. The wand is even competely normal. LOOK AT HOW PLAIN IT IS!
It looks like someone went into sephora, grabbed a bunch of wands from the areas where you try out shit and jammed them into a screw on top. So, what about this plain as fuck mascara is worth $24?! This is the where the value of the box is supposed to come from?! I’m obviously raging about it, and need to chill out. It’s probably a nice mascara, but it makes me feel ripped off. If Meme had put a price of $12, I would have thought it inflated. This is probably a $6 mascara, tops. Using the power of Google, I have found it on sale for the USD equivalent of $4.59.
#4 Shara Shara Feminine Single Blusher. Randomly chosen between pink and peach. Memeprice: $7
The dreaded Shara Shara make up. I am not opening it. I am giving it to a young girl so she can have play makeup. I assume this is like the it’skin blusher that was in a previous box I received. It looks pretty much the same, at least. I got this in pink. Blah.
This box has a Memeprice total of $52 (at least if I added that up in my head correctly. I am being hounded by a border collie while I write this), but that is absolute bullshit. It would probably really retail at half that.
Can you tell this is the worst box I have ever received? I am going to warn everyone. DO NOT BUY A MEMEBOX IF THE CURATION IS SUPPOSED TO BE CUTE. No one knows what the fuck cute is, or how to put together a box of decent value with it.
Thanks for reading my rant.
Today I will be discussing the 3rd My Cute Wishlist Memebox. I would like to start off by saying, that I do I like this box, and think it was mostly pretty darn cute.
I read a few reactions to this box, and the general consensus was that Memebox failed again, and that it was creepy, not cute, and also very cheap looking. I paid less than the $23+shipping, because of the monthly $5 code, but I feel like I did get my money’s worth in this box, even if it wasn’t much more than that.
Let’s get to the now standard photos:
Okay. So, I don’t know if it’s dumb luck, or poor curation, but this is the third box in a row where I got a potted lip balm and a facial cleanser. I’m going to say it’s probably a bit of both, since two of the three were in the MCW series. Hey, Meme, I think like 80% of us purchased both 2 and 3 of this line. I don’t need any more cleansers! I do have tween aged girls in my family to give the potted balms to, luckily. I gave this Hope Girl balm to a 13 year old girl who loves animal print, and she happily accepted it. So, someone thought it was cute, at least.
On to the rest of the dolly items. I like dolls. I think Blythe and Pullip dolls are freaking adorable. I can see how some women wouldn’t like it though.
Shara Shara Fairy’s Make-up Synergy Sun Cream SPF 45 PA++ is one hell of a name. I think the girl on top is really freaking cute though. I also just ran out of sunscreen, so this came with great timing. I think with only PA++ I wouldn’t want to wear this during the summer, but it should be okay in the colder months, when most of my sun exposure is via windows. Here’s to hoping it will not make me break out.
ddung Family Foam cleansing cream. I got the milky variety, which sounds nice and soothing. I still have the Laneige multi cleanser to get through (There’s still probably like two months worth left in there too. :\) AND I absolutely want to use the Vella cleanser from the Cafe box before I get to this. I gave away the cleanser from the last Cute box to the aformentioned 13-year-old girl, so I don’t have to worry about that one.
Shara Shara Kissing Sugar lip scrub. I have been waiting to get a lip scrub in a box. I am very glad to finally get one, and it has come right when chapped lips are going to be an issue, so that’s awesome. Lots of good timing with this box when it comes to things I’m not overwhelmed with. I think the winking girl on the packaging is really cute, too!
Youngwoosa Oh! It’s Lovely and Soft cream. This item, it is not cute. It’s poorly drawn, and that’s probably the point, but it’s not cute. I think the name of it is cute, and it fit the weird doll/girl curation of this box, so that’s probably why it was included. I don’t really need another cream at the moment, but maybe it will get use in the dead of winter, when all of my poor face gets chapped just from taking my pooch out to poop.
Tony Moly Red Cheeks Girl’s Patch. I think this is cute. I will probably use it. However, I kind of hate when single use items are included as a full sized item. That’s really all I have to say about that.
And that’s Memebox’s My Cute Wishlist 3 and my general impressions on it. I like it, I’m not in love with it. I do have #4 ordered already. If they release #5 before 4 arrives, I can’t say that I will jump on it. It is just not as good as other Memeboxes. The items, if cute have been on the cheaper side. I like Memebox for it’s quality, and that’s not really something I have seen in these. Hopefully number 4 will live up to it’s description and make this series a fan favorite again.
I don’t know when I’ll be back before December since my next box ships via snail mail on 11/18. It will probably show up in early December, and then I have Apple Mojito and Petit Treasures shipping express December 2nd, and Brighten&Correct and Wish Upon a Mask express shipping 12/10. I normally wouldn’t have purchased sets, but shipping USPS around X-Mas is a goddamn nightmare, so I chose to spend a little extra cash to get them to me before Christmas, incase any of them include things I will want to gift to my sister, sister-in-law, mom, or nieces.
Well, I’ll see you when I see you.
