I am back way faster that I thought I ever would be with a new Memebox. I grabbed up the Box of Fortune for $26.35 with a coupon. This box was advertised as being worth between $50-$200, so I thought it would be a fun surprise. I was really feeling the mystery box itch, because I have been waiting forever for Ipsy and 3B Box slots to open up. The day after I bought this, I got off of the Ipsy waitlist, and last night I got the email from 3B to get off of theirs. I am gonna wait until the next tiem 3B comes around because I just got all this:
I have been wanting to try Memebox brand cosmetics, but I am not good at deciding on colors, and when I can’t decide, I just give up. It’s a terrible fault I have. As you can see, there are 5 full sized products, 1 one time use mask, and a deluxe sized sample. On to my thoughts about it.
Item #1 Skinfood Peach Sake Emulsion. Memebox.com price $18
I’ve heard a lot about the peach sake line from Skinfood. It is supposed to reduce sebum and minimize pores. This should be good for the quickly approaching hot and humid NJ Summer. My t-zone tends to be oily in the warm months, and dry in the cold, so I am hoping this will keeping my skin glowing, and not slick. Once I am done introducing items from my last memebox, and my skin calms down, I will give this baby a go.
Item #2 It’s Skin Power 10 VE Effector. Memebox.com price: $13
I’ve heard both good and bad things about these ampoules. (I think that is what they are anyway.) This is the Vitamin E one, which is supposed to help balance oil and moisture. Now, I can’t find anything about this, but my bottle contains a TON of crystal looking matter.
I don’t think this is normal, and I will be emailing the lovely folks over at Memebox about this when I am done with this post. If this is an expired product, I am going to be really sad, because I was looking forward to trying this out.
Item #3 XO Memebox I’m Lip Crayon in #04 Juliet. Memebox.com price: $7
I was really happy to see this in the box, because this is one of the XO Memebox items I had wanted to try. I will admit I would have preferred at different color, but this one does look good on me. The crayon goes on smoothly with only a hint of waxiness. It also super pigmented. I will put a swatch of the make up at the end.
Item #4 SoYoung x Memebox Lovely Stick Shadow #1 Lovely Rose Gold. Memebox.com price: $10
I was super happy to get this color! I have been looking around, trying to find a good rose gold shadow, and this one is gorgeous. It is really shimmery and softly golden with a touch of rose. I love it, and can’t wait to really use it.
Item #5 XO Memebox I’m Cream Shadow in #03 My Wannabe. Memebox.com price: $7.50
This is another really gorgeous rosy gold shadow. It’s more coppery than the stick, but I still really like the color. I didn’t swatch this one, because I didnt’t want to stick my fingers in it and am currently without clean brushes. I did take a photo of the pot though.
It looks more gold here than it actually is, but I think it will pair well with the stick shadow.
Item #6 Ferderma Egyptian V-line Make-up mask. This is currently not for sale on memebox.com. It seems like it was once sold in 10 packs, but it isn’t up anymore. I found some on ebay for about $4 for one (being sold for $16.50 for 4)
I have wanted to try a v-line mask, purely for novelty’s sake. I can’t really find anything about this one without a more thorough googling, but I’m sure it will be weird to put on and moisturize my jaw line. I had hoped there would be a mask or two, and while this wouldn’t be my first choice, I’m not upset about it or anything.
Item #7 IPKN New York Moist & Firm BB cream in 01Fair. This is a deluxe sample, so there will not be a price.
I’m not really looking for a BB cream at the moment, but I will give this a shot, since I am light skinned. It’s fairly light with slight yellow undertones.but closer to a neutral beige. It was a nice addition I suppose.
Here’s the swatches I promised:
So what did my box of Fortune value come to? Well, not counting the mask I couldn’t find a price for and the deluxe sample, $55.50. Not too shabby I guess.
Hello readers! I’m back after a few months of buying no Memeboxes. As I’m sure you know, in January, Memebox stopped shipping internationally and set up Memebox USA. I haven’t purchased a box since January, because the price of boxes soared, and I couldn’t pay $45 for a box with a few items that may not have any items I actually wanted. So, I sat with a few points in my account, occasionally browsing for something I wanted. I could never find anything to pull the trigger on, until the Vacay box. It was $30, and I had a coupon, so I picked this up for $22.50, shipped. I decided to get this because I knew it would have a sunscreen item in it, and sunscreen itself can be priced at half of what I got this box for. So here’s what came in the Vacay Box.
Item #1 Secret Key High Lasting sun cream SPF 50+ Memeprice – $5
I haven’t used this yet. It’s the only item in the box I haven’t gotten to yet. I just purchased The Face Shop Perfect sun cream like a week ago. Considering how small the bottle is, I will probably get to it by June, so when I do start using it, I will give a full review on it. I am excited to use this in the humid summers of New Jersey, because it is supposed to mattefy and control sebum.
Item #2 Banila Co. The Kissest Water Beam tint in Garosu Aura Memeprice – $12
Above is the tint freshly swatched, and then wiped off with an alcohol wipe. As you can see, it tints pretty well. It’s also super glittery. It will be a nice tint for a night out. It’s very pretty and not super intense looking on my lips, because they’re already pretty dark. I like it.
Item #3 Holika Holika One Solution – Clear ampoule Memeprice – $22
I was really happy to see this item. It was unexpected, but I immediately started testing it out. I have been breaking out like crazy lately. I’m not really sure why, but a few months ago, my skin went from being clear for a long time, so angry and sensitive. I tested this ampoule out on a particularly painful (so intense it was actually purple) pimple and two days later, it is not swollen anymore, and has really decreased in size. It’s still a little red, but it doesn’t hurt anymore. I am excited to keep using this ampoule, and hope it helps get my skin back to where it was a few months ago.
Item #4 Holika Holika Aloe 99% Sothing gel – Memeprice – $10
I am allergic to grass. It sucks. The other day, I took my dog out, and when I came back inside, my feet had huge patches of hives. I applied this gel, and it helped a lot until the benedryl kicked in. I don’t know if I will use it on my face, but I would like to try it on the ends of my hair (I really need a haircut.) to see it if helps with the dryness. Also, the packaging is really cute, and it’s huge.
Item #5 Holika Holika Aqua Petit Jelly Neon Beam Nails – Memeprice – $7
I got orange, obviously. This polish is great. That is one coat in the picture above, so it’s super pigmented. I love the color. I was really happy to get orange, as I exclusively use orange on my toenails. This is supposed to glow in the dark, but all the pictures show black light…so I’m not really sure which is it. Either way, I am really happy with this.
I liked this box overall. I will use everything, and because I got it fairly cheap, I feel like I got a decent deal.
Thanks for reading!
Hi readers! This is my first product review.
I received this lipstick in the F/W Colors Memebox It have been using this lipstick almost exclusively since I received it. It is absolutely a holy grail lippie for me! I just wish it was easier to find Witch’s Pouch items. I have liked both that I have.
In the tube it looks so dark! I was a bit afraid of it when I first looked. I had never tried out such a dark color before! But then I swatched it and immediately fell in love!
It’s much pinker than I imagined. It’s really a dark magenta. This lipstick is so moisturizing, and last pretty darn long, even when eating. It only comes off when I wipe it off with a napkin while eating. Even after wiped off, it leaves a light stain, which is also really gorgeous if you don’t have the ability to reapply immediately.
I would absolutely recommend this lipstick! It comes in a ton of colors too!
This photo was taken from i-charming.com which is Witch’s Pouch’s company’s website.
You can buy this lipstick in a few shades from http://vincci-vins.com/index.php/shop-by-brand/witchs-pouch/wp-kiss-lipstick.html. It’s called Kiss Me Lipstick, but it looks like the same thing. It is sold for 18.90 CAD.
You could also probably buy directly from http://witchsshop.kr/ via a shipping service, like Avecko.
Hi, I’m back after a fairly long break from blogging with Memebox’s new title for their global boxes. They have PROBABLY been re-titled because Memebox is going to stop shipping internationally in 3 days, on 2/10/15. It really sucks that this is happening for people who loved their boxes. As an American, I am happy that I won’t have to wait 2 weeks for my boxes to come in, but that is pretty much the only silver lining. Onwards to the review.
I think this box has a good variety of products, but I am pretty sure every box I have ever gotten has had either a cleanser or a hand cream, and this one has both. Because of this I have too many cleansers and hand creams waiting for me to use to try these ones out. Once I get through my stock pile though, I’ll check them out.
Item #1: The Choute Aurora Pearl Base Memeprice $18
The homepage of the company that makes this is the same as Witch’s Pouch, and I just totally adore both lip products I have from them. This is a makeup base. After you do your skincare routine, you put this on, then continue with your makeup. It is very iridescent, and once rubbed in leave a noticable shimmer. It has a very light perfume scent.
So once this product got rubbed into my hand, I noticed that it illuminated a scar on my hand. If you have noticable scarring on your face, this may not be the product for you…but maybe your foundation will make it less noticable.
Item #2: Secret Nature Moringa Seed Toner Memeprice: $31
This toner comes in is a really lovely frosted glass bottle. That alone makes the toner seem like it’s going to be worth the price. It was mildly viscous, and clear. The scent was quite perfumey and did not immediately go away once absorbed. It didn’t bother me, but if you are sensitive to smells, you may want to think twice about purchasing this. it made my hand very quite moisturized, so I will continue using it.
Item #3: Pureplus+ Acai Berry Magic Bubble Foaming Foam Memeprice $12
As I stated earlier, I haven’t used this yet. I do like acai berry as an ingredient. It smells nice and has a ton of anti-oxidents. I’m not really sure what else to say about this. It’s a foaming cleanser. It cleans.
Item#4: Mimi Lauryne’s Beauty Lesson Hand Cream Memeprice: $17
Chosen randomly from Rosee Fleur, Aromatic Citrus, or Exotique
I got Rosee Fleur. I seem to get rose scented things when randomly chosen. This is another item I have not tried yet. I don’t go through hand creams particularly fast, and have quite a few to go through. I may even give this away. This cream is formulated like an eye cream, to help with wrinkles, so maybe my mom would get better use out of it.
Item #5: Esthetic House Vitamin 3000 Vitamin C Capsule Cream Memeprice: $24
This is a spot cream for dark spots. Vitamin C does great things for dark spots and uneven skin tones. This has a mild, but delicious lemon scent. It’s a very thick cream and is sticky for a little while after applying. It does absorb well after a few minutes, and the scent disappears. I haven’t been using this long enough to know if it works but I will continue to use it.
Items #6 & #7 Syndrome Cosmetic Pouch Samples: CB Revitalizing Fermenation Essence and CB Cream Gold x2
These items can not be opened to swatch, because they are foil packets. I want to try them, because they sound like great products, but they are FOIL PACKETS. I have never received a foil packet in a Memebox, and I can’t believe they put these in here, and then listed them as separate items. To me, there are 5 items in here, and a very small extra.
Dear Memebox. Please no more foil packets. OR. If I wanted to try foil samples, I need more than 2.
That’s The January Memebox. I like it, but I am not totally excited about it. This box was $23 + $6.99 shipping. Memevalue of $102. (I’m not including the foils, because they don’t have a price.
Also, now that I’ve been using some products for a while, I will write up reviews for them, so look out for those.
Lovely Elisa over at Memorable Days has teamed up with Wish Trend to give away all these fantastic items!
This give away ends tomorrow, so be sure to get your entries in over here: http://www.memorable-days.net/2014/12/dear-klairs-moisture-rescue-wishtrend.html
This is the other half of my birthday replacement order. Woo. I love brightening products. I love it when my skin glows. Who wouldn’t? Korean companies make some excellent brightening products, too. Maybe some of these will become HG items.
This is my third blog tonight. Hopefully it makes sense and I don’t come off as delirious.
Item #1: Ariul Spa Water 24hours Moisturizing De-tox Mask
That’s a mouth full. There was a product from this line in the Earth and Sea box. That was one of the few boxes I get serious Meme envy over. I really look forward to trying this mask. The description sounds fun! Also, it is apparently good for dry and irritated skin, which is EXACTLY what I need right now. It is supposed to clean out pores and remove blackheads. If it lives up to its description, I will absolutely adore this.
Item #2: AHC Hologram Collection Whitening Serum
This is the 3rd item from this company that I have received today. These serums expire in 12 months, so this one might go to my mom. I haven’t quite decided yet. While it doesn’t look as fun as the Active Gen serum, it is still pretty cool looking:
It contains niacinamide and tomato for whitening and hyaluronic acid for moisturizing. It looks nice, and has a steep memevalue at $89.
Item #3: LadyKin Broccoli Super Brightening Cream
This has 75% broccoli extract, which means tons of antioxidants. It also has vitamin C and E, so it will be good for getting rid of pesky PIH. I don’t really have much to say. It seems like a good product, but it’s not exciting.
Item #4: Boscians Cycle Repair Whitening Spot
Green bud extract (whatever that is) + hyaluronic acid. It’s a spot corrector. I’m surprised there’s only one spot correction item in here. It should brighten and moisturize spots and undereyes. It’s going in my mom’s Christmas box.
Item #5: Withme White Perfection Hydrating Cream
Finally, the last item! The name of this is kind of horrifying here in the US. It just seems like a white power kind of thing. If WITHME wants to put this thing out over here, they need to change the name. Anyway. It’s got silk concentrates and ocean complex. I don’t know if it’s just because I am tired, but what the hell are either of those things? They just kind of sound like buzz words used to lump weird shit together because no one wants to know that sea creature and bug poop is going onto their skin. Back on track, These items are rich in protein and amino acids, which apparently detoxify the skin of hyperpigmentation. Also, do we really need two creams in one box?
I like this box. It has a pretty damn high memevalue, and is has products I will use. Assuming I can get to the creams before they expire.
For my birthday, I purchased a ton of sheet masks from honestskin because they were having a huge sale. WELLLLL. That became a debacle. Search through any k-beauty forum on the internet and you will probably find something about it. I did get a refund, and that refund purchased this half of my bundle. I present: Wish upon a mask
I really like this box! There are no hair masks! There are boxes of masks! There are no single sheet masks! The value isn’t super high, but I will use EVERYTHING! What more could you really ask for? Well, besides higher value I guess.
Item #1: Banila Co. Claypatra Mineral Salt Clay pack
I’ve never used a Banila Co. product, but I hear good things, and people love their Clean It cleansers. I will admit, I am a little sad about the size of this product. It’s got probably 2 uses, max. It’s a good thing I don’t use clay masks often. I love the little container it comes in, and it smells pretty good. I wonder if the big one will be in the Cleopatra box. I didn’t get that, but it would certainly fit.
Item #2: AHC Real Aqua Velvet Sleeping Pack
Each box I got today has a product from this company in it. I think (not totally sure if I’m remembering this correctly) that this is a sister company of Shara Shara. Either way, I will use this. It contain niacinamide and snail secretions, and those two are enough to seal the deal. I probably won’t try this until after I have finished the Derma House Perfect Moisture Whitening Mask, which I love dearly. Seriously. Holy grail sleeping pack for me. I can only hope this one is half as good for me.
Item #3: Shara Shara Real Sauce Mung Bean sheet mask x2
I love the name of this mask. Real sauce. I dunno, it just makes me laugh a little. Apparently mung beans has lots of vitamins, and these masks are supposed to nourish and brighten. I am sure it will just moisturize, but I do use a mask once a week.
Item #4: To the Nature Black Rice Hydrogel Eye Patch x5
Woo a whole box of eye patches! Yay! These have lots of good ingredients, like collagen and black rice (obviously). They will be good for after long nights out. (I have one of those next weekend.) They’re supposed to firm and lift sagging eye skin. I really hope they work, because my hereditary under eye circles totally need some firming and lifting!
Item #5 Purederm Yogurt Wash-off Pack x15 (!) Randomly chosen between Kiwi (dead skin control) and Strawberry (sebum control)
Another whole box! There are seriously a TON of these in here!
I got strawberry. I don’t really have oily skin right now. In fact, I have pretty dry skin right now. I normally have combination skin, but I am super dry because of the stupid weather. 😦 I will wait to use these, and I am putting a couple into the Christmas presents of my teenage nieces. I like Purederm, so hopefully these will be of decent quality.
Item #6: Inoface Modeling Cup Pack Randomly selected from Chlorella (soothing and balancing), Black Food (sebum control), Propolis (moisture), Yogurt (exfoliating), Acerola (rejuvenating), and Peppermint (Brightening)
I got this in Acerola. I would have like any except Black Food, so I am happy that I didn’t get that. These are basically little tubs with powder in them that you mix with water and make a clay like mask. This sounds like fun, but also like a pain. I still haven’t used the bran mask from Whole Grain 1 yet, because it sounds like a pain in the ass to use. Maybe I will wait and have a girl’s spa night before my brother gets married this Summer coming up.
That’s Wish Upon a Mask! I like it. Maybe you like it. If you did, I guess it doesn’t matter because you can’t buy it anymore.
